Large-scale farms produce bigger volume, and most of that is monocropping (only growing one thing) and distributed through long distance distribution The USDA research and farm studies have determined that mid‑size family farms have a stronger presence in local and regional food systems compared to large‑scale farms. These farms are often multi-generational and keep their produce within their community through farmstands, farmers markets and hubs. The produce is healthier, is more environmentally friendly, higher in nutrients and flavor. And grown just down the road, "as the crow flies".
Visit your local farmstand, buy the ingredients to make a delicious late summer meal. Invite your friends, invite your neighbors and share a table that reminds us why good food and good community matter most.

What is a Jujube?
Jujube, one of the world’s oldest cultivated fruits, is a small but mighty superfruit. Fresh jujubes are crisp and lightly sweet, while dried ones develop a rich, date‑like chew. We have these available at the farmstand, and as their season continues we will have them both fresh and dried at farmers markets as well.
